Scholarships in Italy 2016/2017

 

The Italian Government is offering scholarships, carrying an allowance of €850/month each, for the following type of courses: Undergraduate University courses(renewals only), Postgraduate University courses, Master’s Degree courses(Levels I or II), Ph.D. Courses, Specialisation Schools, Research under academic supervision, Courses of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance(AFAM), Advanced Courses on Italian language and Culture Courses for teachers of Italian as second language. These scholarships are to be availed of during the academic year 2016/17. Detailed information can be found on:

Applications are to be filled directly on https://borseonline.esteri.it

The applications must be received online by Friday 15th April 2016. Moreover, one has to send all necessary documentation requested as hard copy to the Italian Cultural Institute (Attn Dr. Salvatore Schirmo). It is being underlined that only applications through this system will be considered.

The applicants’ age should not exceed 35 years.

A copy of the application is also to be sent to the Scholarship Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This can be either posted, faxed, sent by email or one can use the Scholarships website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs https://foreignaffairs.gov.mt/en/Pages/Scholarships.aspx.

Successful candidates may be required to enter into a contract to serve the Government or the Private Sector of Malta upon completion of the scholarship.

Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Employer respectively.

The Board’s decision will be final.

Scholarships in Climate Action offered by the Government of Malta for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Malta

The Government of Malta, through the Ministry for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change, is announcing the offer of three scholarships for students wishing to engage in Postgraduate studies at the University of Malta commencing in the academic year 2016/2017. Research proposals will be considered in the following areas:

Adaptation and Building Resilience to Climate Change

Developing a Low Carbon Economy

Good Governance of Climate Action

INTERUNIVERSITY Master on Diplomacy and International Relations 2016/2017 (for Maltese citizens only) 

The public announcement for ‘Interuniversity Master on Diplomacy and International Relations’ at the Spanish Diplomatic School, for 2016/17 has been issued. The official form is to be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain: http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Portal/es/Ministerio/EscuelaDiplomatica/Documents/FORMULARIO%20DE%20ADMISI%c3%93N%202016-2017.pdf and must be submitted to the Embassy of Spain in Malta.

 

MEMBERS OF THE MALTESE DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

The Candidates will be required to enclose a Note Verbale from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Malta, with the completed application form and to present all the other necessary documents as required in the call for applications. The candidate must also be a member of the Maltese diplomatic service and be in possession of a diplomatic passport.

 

NON DIPLOMATIC CANDIDATES

Non Diplomatic Candidates must sit an entrance examination before the 20th April 2016 at the Embassy of Spain for which all the non diplomat applicants will be called.

 

To make the most of this Master Programme, applicants must have a high level of Spanish which can be proved by presenting a certificate of the intermediate level of DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language). Applicants must possess at least an Honours Degree by a recognised University or equivalent and have a minimum of 7 out of 10 in his/her academic record, obtained before the 30th of September 2015.

 

The list of candidates accepted for the Master Programme will be published before 31st May 2016.

The registration price of the Master is 1250 euros to be paid once the final list of the candidates accepted is published.

The deadline to submit the application and all documentation is 1st March 2016. A copy of this application is also to be sent to the Scholarship Section at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Palazzo Parisio, Merchants Street, Valletta, VLT 1171.

Maritime Law Scholarships 2016/2017 (for Maltese citizens only)  

Applications are invited from Maltese citizens for the 27th course at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute, Malta to be held from mid-October 2016 to May 2017 .

The course is at postgraduate level leading to a Master of Laws (LL.M) and places particular emphasis on the international regulatory law relating to maritime safety and port protection of the marine environment. It also covers the commercial law aspects of shipping. A unique feature of the course is the provision of comprehensive training in the development and drafting of maritime legislation.

Persons already in possession of a university degree in law with a high standard may apply.

Application forms as indicated below should be submitted to the Scholarships Section at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Valletta from 8.00a.m. to 12.00 p.m and 02.00p.m. to 4.00p.m.

E-ID registration details may be obtained from www.mygov.mt    Those applying through this portal are to make sure that (c), (d) and (e) above have to be handed in as a hard copy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
