Global Government Leaders Program – GGLP 2023

The Government of the United Arab Emirates represented by the Government Experience Exchange Office, in collaboration with the Mohamed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development, is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural “Global Government Leaders Program – GGLP 2023”. The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) is entrusted by virtue of the bilateral MoU on Government Experience Exchange in Research & Innovation signed in February 2023, to run the national screening process for Maltese candidates to be considered as eligible candidates to the first Global Government Leaders Program edition, which will be launched in September 2023.

The objective of the Global Government Leaders Program is to prepare a new generation of global leaders who possess the ability to navigate contemporary challenges, embrace emerging technologies and scenarios, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning. By doing so, the “Global Government Leaders Program” serves to nurture institutional excellence and contribute significantly to the attainment of sustainable development goals, ultimately enhancing the performance of global government institutions.

The Government of Malta is invited to nominate four (4) candidates interested to participate in the GGLP 2023, out of which one (1) shall be selected. The eligible candidates must be government employees/public officials who are playing a vital role in shaping strategic directions in their workplace or are overseeing a significant sector or leading a strategic initiative and should be among the leadership team in their respective entity. Eligible candidates should be highly proficient in both spoken and written English and should be under the age of 40.

Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents by way of application:

  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) accompanied by Certificates (preferably in English)
  • Motivation letter
  • Candidate statement outlining how the training program would bring benefits to the candidate’s place of work (not more than 300 words)
  • Endorsement letter signed by Senior Management endorsing the candidature for participation in the GGLP 2023.

Further information on the selection process and criteria can be found in the informational brochure shared by the Government Experience Exchange Office.

Interested Applicants are to submit their application documents, as outlined above, electronically to international.mcst@gov.mt, with “Global Government Leaders Program” as a subject heading. Applications should be received by not later than Friday, 30th June 2023 (23:59 CET). Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they are provided with a written confirmation of receipt of their application.

Should it be necessary, face-to-face interviews to determine the short-list of the four nominated candidates would take place on the 5th of July 2023 at MCST premises
