Call for Abstracts: Offshore Energy and Storage Symposium, OSES 2016
TheUniversities of Malta, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Leeds and Windsor will be hosting the 3rd Offshore Energy and Storage Symposium, OSES 2016, to be held in Malta between 13 – 15th July 2016. Focusing on energy storage and offshore renewables, OSES 2016 provides a platform for academics and industry from around the world to share the latest developments in technology, economics and policy, through presentations and networking sessions. OSES 2016 follows successful conferences held previously at the University of Windsor (OSES 2014) and at the University of Edinburgh (OSES 2015).

Topic 2: Offshore energy storage
– Compressed air and pumped hydro storage
– Batteries and chemical storage
– Thermal storage
– Offshore biomass systems
– New concepts and materials
Topic 3: Integration of centralised/de-centralised energy storage in electrical power networks
– Island networks and smart grids
– Interconnection systems
– Delivery of non-electrical energy services from offshore energy farms
Topic 4. Implementation of offshore renewable energy generation and/or storage projects
– Economic feasibility analysis
– Spatial planning
– Interaction with other maritime activities (including shipping and fishing)
– Mobilization, deployment, and/or decommissioning technologies for offshore energy assets
