Update: Call for the Provision of Artist Services

CALL FOR THE PROVISION OF PUPPETEER AND STORYTELLER SERVICES FOR ESPLORA

The Malta Council for Science and Technology is inviting applications for the provision of Puppeteer and Storyteller services for Esplora, in order to set up a 3-artist show which will tour in 30 Primary School around Malta and Gozo between March and June 2017.

Esplora, Malta’s Interactive Science Centre, is an informal educational and recreation facility suited to visitors of all age groups. It is located at Villa Bighi in Kalkara, and its primary aim is for visitors to experience science as being fun, exciting, and enjoyable by engaging with science through hands-on interaction.

Submission, evaluation and selection of proposals for the provision of either puppeteer or storyteller services will be in the form of a one-stage process in which the artist submits all the necessary information, and is subsequently asked in to a workshop style audition in order to enable a decision on acceptance or rejection. These auditions will happen first week of January 2017.

The fee for each 45-minute show shall be of €35 inclusive of VAT (including preparation time pre-show and clearing up post-show), up to a maximum total of €1,500 inclusive of VAT.

Interested parties should be in possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Theatre Studies or Performing Arts or equivalent as well as direct exposure to the relevant work over a period of time. CV and Portfolio of work are to be submitted electronically to laurasue.mallia@gov.mt with “Artist Proposal Submission” as a subject. It is the responsibility of the service provider to ensure the timely and correct delivery of the application to the Council. All received proposals shall be acknowledged by email. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 21st December 2016 at noon.
