The ELITE project brought together researchers from the University of Malta, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering with the Production Engineering Department at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. Via a series of bilateral meetings, research visits, seminars, and development of teaching materials, researchers from either side greatly benefited from the transfer of knowledge and from the new collaborations which developed. This collaboration led to the submission and grant of an Erasmus+ KA2 project which extended the collaboration to another three European Universities and which will sustain and increase the internationalisation of Maltese research in Digital Manufacturing.
